From accepted quote to organised booking
The customer has already confirmed the work. The booking should begin with that context, not another blank form.
Acceptance already created context
By the time a freight quote is accepted, the team has already captured customer details, routing, cargo, suppliers, charges and the commercial decision behind the work.
Starting the booking from an empty record discards that effort. It also creates the first opportunity for the booked job to drift from what the customer accepted.
Carry forward what is known
The new booking should inherit confirmed parties, routing, cargo details, selected charges and supporting files. Fields that remain uncertain should be visible as gaps, not silently guessed.
A clean handoff is not a bigger form. It is a reliable transition from one state of work to the next.
Review the change
Carrying information forward does not mean locking it forever. Operations may need to update a sailing, equipment type or supplier. The useful record makes that change clear and keeps the accepted commercial context close enough to compare.
Make the next action obvious
An organised booking shows what is confirmed, what is missing, who owns the next step and which deadlines matter. That is a better starting point than asking an operator to reconstruct the job from email.
